With Disney Pixar’s Cars 2 arriving in theatres this week, here comes the video game. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Five years after Pixar’s original Cars movie arrived in theatres, Cars 2 speeds into town and the folks at Disney Interactive have been working to make sure the video game contains the same look and humor along with the game play. Producer John Day….
“The cars really are characters in the game. For example, our script for this game was over four thousand lines of dialogue. And these cars, they talk all the time. They banter back and forth. We have a system in place where if two characters in the game have a previous relationship, if they’re both playing in the game, they’re actually going to talk back and forth just to make things feel like these really are characters, they really do have personalities, they really do interact. It’s mostly hilarious.”
