NetZero’s no contract portable hotspot. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. If you’ve got an iPad or other WiFi only tablet or a notebook computer…and you want to get connected from anywhere, NetZero is offering some of the more affordable options with no contract. The company is selling a USB dongle for notebooks for about fifty dollars and a portable Hotspot that can be used with multiple devices for about a hundred dollars. And if your data needs are minimal, NetZero offers a 200 megabyte plan that is free for the first year. The price for 2 gigabytes is 35 dollars a month. President Rusty Taragan….
“The people are picking different plans depending upon what their needs are. As you said we have a plan that is free, we also have a plan at 9.95, 19.95, 34.95 and 49.95 and sign ups have run the gamut. ”
With the hotspot, the whole family can be online at the same time, but you will need to be within the ClearWire WiMax service area used by NetZero. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
