Xbox Music, SmartGlass and more coming to the Xbox 360. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. What’s next for Microsoft’s popular Xbox 360 game console? Besides lots of new games like Halo 4, the focus is on turning the game console into even more of an entertainment hub with new partners like Nickolodeon, the NBA and NHL. A new Xbox Music service is on the way as is something called SmartGlass. What’s that? Microsoft’s Letty Cherry…
“So Xbox SmartGlass is an app that not only lets you share all of your entertainment content between your TV, tablet, phone, but it’s really, really intuitive. So say, for example, I’m watching a TV show on my phone, I can press a button and off it goes to my TV right at the same spot. But what’s amazing is that it knows that I’m watching that show and it will then start feeding me content about the show that I’m watching.”
It’s due to arrive later this year and Microsoft says it will work not just with Xbox and Windows…but with Apple and Android devices too. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
