A mobile carrier that will let you travel abroad with no roaming charges. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Voyager Mobile is a little start up carrier with some big plans. It made a splash when its 23 year old founder, John Mardini, launched earlier this year offering unlimited talk, text and data for 39 dollars a month. And there are no contracts. Voyager uses Sprint’s network in the U.S.. And now for world travelers, Mardini has announced Project Global Voyager….
“We have actually created technology, patent pending and exclusive to Voyager, that eliminates international roaming. Our users are able to travel the globe and stay in touch, voice, SMS and data, without any roaming fees whatsoever.”
Mardini says Voyager will begin selling phones capable of using the service next year. There’s more info at VoyagerMobile.com. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
