A home security system that learns about you. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. Home security systems that let you control and monitor your home from anywhere using smartphones and tablets are getting to be pretty common. But there are differences in just how smart they are. Alarm.com, which has been one of the pioneers in the business, has created technology that lets your security system learn about you. VP Jay Kenny….
“One great feature on the security side is if you leave during the day and forget to arm your system you essentially set up what we call a GeoFence, which is just a circle around your home. And when you leave that three mile radius, it will send you an alert that tells you you forgot to arm your system. And then we’ll also apply this then to your energy feature. So when you leave that circumference, you can actually put your house into an energy saving mode.”
Alarm.com works with professional installers and prices vary. You can find us with archives, interviews and more at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
