Here come the apps for the Apple Watch. I’m Fred Fishkin with technology BootCamp, a report on gadgets and gear. No matter what you want to do with a smartphone these days…you can rest assured…there’s an app for that. Well…get ready to start saying it all over again…when it comes to what you can do with the Apple Watch. For instance, at PayPoint, managing director for mobile Dan Salmons says there’s the PayByPhone app that lets you pay for parking meters in many cities. Perfect, he says, for the Apple Watch ….
“Which means that if you’re sitting there in a meeting or having lunch in a restaurant, you’re wondering whether your parking’s running out. Now you can just discreetly look at your watch, you can have a look and see how much time is left on the parking. And also, it then allows you, should you want to top off your parking, if you’re running out, no need to run out to the car, just tap the screen of your Apple Watch and you can top up a certain amount of parking….however much more that you want.”
Convenient and, of course, pretty cool. You can find us at BootCamp.com. I’m Fred Fishkin.
