A virtual reality ticket to the NBA. I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear. Interest has been growing pretty fast among consumers for virtual reality. We’re only in the early stages….but VR content is getting better all the time…and so is the hardware to let you watch. New VR headsets from Google and Sony are joining products like Samsung’s Gear VR…part of the Occulus family. And a company called NextVR is partnering with the NBA to give Gear VR owners the chance to watch one live game per week in virtual reality. VP of content Danny Keens calls it transformational change…
“This is not incremental change to how things are broadcast. So we put you in a fully immersive seat. You can look around in this virtual world 360 degrees and you feel like you are actually sitting at the stadium.”
