Virtual reality made inroads this year. Much more to come.

Techstination feature for Thursday, December 29, 2016

Virtual Reality made inroads this year, but it’s just getting started.   I’m Fred Fishkin with BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.    Early adopters are already immersing themselves in VR.   Google’s new Pixel phones are designed to take advantage of the company’s Daydream VR platform.  Samsung has Oculus as a partner.   And then there are computer connected higher end VR set ups.  A more affordable option….for PlayStation 4 game console owners…comes from Sony.   The PlayStation VR.   Sony’s Andrew Kelly…

“In terms of virtual reality we definitely strive to make the most technologically advanced VR headset that we could.   So it’s a really high resolution screen,  really low latency, and I think the experience and the quality that you’ll get from playing is absolutely at the top of some of the other systems out there.”

The PS VR sells for about 400 dollars.  Again, you’ll need the PlayStation 4 console.   You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
