Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   A wearable band for kids that promotes fitness and more.   It’s called the UNICEF Kid Power Band.    It looks like many other fitness bands on the market, but it is designed especially for kids and pairs with an app…typically on a parents phone…that helps to motivate kids by turning their physical activity into points that can help feed needy families around the world.  Unicef Ventures Managing Director Desma Dietz…says the plan is to help kids in the U.S. get more fit…while helping others…

“So we came up with this idea.  What if we empowered kids in the U.S. to get active and the motivation for them was saving other kids lives.”
