Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    Signing up for unlimited data?   You aren’t alone.   With Verizon having joined its competitors last month,  all of the major carriers are giving customers unlimited data options.     At Verizon Wireless,  VP of Network Support Mike Haberman says even with customers using more data, the network will still deliver the performance that has put it on top…

“First of all, we’ve planned for this.  This was not a decision we just decided to do.  We’ve been planning the network for this type of an offer, much like Verizon Wireless has a history of doing.  When we offer a product, we ensure that we have the product behind it to deliver on the customer expectations.”

In the meantime, Verizon is busy already testing out 5G networks in nearly a dozen locations around the country…that will bring all new capabilities way beyond the connecting of phones.
