Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    If you have a 4K Ultra HD TV…the time might be now to invest in a 4K Ultra HD DVD player.   The reason?   The new 4K Ultra HD version of Planet Earth II.    Bringing the BBC America masterpiece, wonderfully again narrated by Sir David Attenborough to UHD is as visually astounding as the original series was when it arrived on Blu-ray.   It was lovingly filmed over the course of three years in forty countries and achieved many firsts.  There are a number of choices out there for adding a 4K UHD player…and among them is the updated version of Microsoft’s Xbox One game console.   At between 250 and 300 dollars, the pricing is roughly the same as many other 4K UHD players without all of that extra gaming capability.   The Planet Earth II UHD disc lists for about 60 dollars.   It is more than worth the investment.
