A revamped Google Earth

Techstination feature for Monday, April 24, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    It came just in time for Earth Day this year.    Google has updated Google Earth so that you can get to it right from the Chrome browser and soon other browsers as well.    Google’s Daniel Sieberg..

“So in the past a lot of this has been locked away a program you had to download, a client or a mobile app.   But today, by going to your Chrome browser and typing in http://Earth.google.com you can see all this imagery and we’ve enhanced all of that with an opportunity to learn more.  To not only discover these places around the world but also to get a better  understanding of different points of interest, how the planet has been changing.  We’ve partnered with a number of different organizations like the BBC, NASA, The Jane Goodall Institute.”

It’s both educational and lots of fun for all ages to play with.

You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
