Apple's latest iPad proves more affordable and capable

Techstination feature for Wednesday, May 3, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    Apple’s new, more affordable iPad…priced at 329 dollars for the model with 32 gigabytes of storage…gives consumers a great new choice.   It’s just about half the price of the entry level iPad Pro and while you won’t get all of the same features, there’s no pen option here for instance,  the less pricey model looks great…with a 9.7 inch Retina display….and the responsiveness from the A9 processor …feels fast.   If you have an older iPad….this may be the upgrade you’ve waited for.   Of course, you can spend more for upgrades.   At 429 dollars you can bump up to 128 gigabytes of storage.   The top of the line model with both WiFi and cellular connectivity built in…goes for 559 dollars with 128 gigs.    Keep in mind, to use the cellular connection, you’ll have to pay for service too.   Might be better to save some money…and simply use your smartphone as a hotspot when needed.
