Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    What can you control with your voice now?   How about a sprinkler system.     The connected sprinkler control boxes from Rachio can now be controlled with your voice through either Amazon’s Alexa or Google Home….in addition to an app on your phone.   Rachio’s Damon Miller says the idea is to make outdoor watering more intelligent…

“So it will automatically adjust based on weather, temperature.   And actually what we found is that most people over water by up to fifty percent.  So we can save that much on people’s watering bills.  You add that up over time, that’s thousands and thousands of gallons and hundreds of dollars a year.”

Not to mention the help it can give to water conservation…needed in many parts of the country.  Rachio makes 8 and 16 zone controllers…with pricing starting at about two hundred dollars.
