Some new tech on the way from Google

Techstination feature for Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    For users of Android phones and other devices….Google is promising to deliver updates more quickly and more frequently.   That’s good news for companies like Samsung and HTC that will find it easier to deliver upgrades.   At the Google I/O conference this month….a new type of visual search was unveiled called Google Lens.   Google Technologist LaToya Drake…

“”You’re walking down the street, you see a flower, you don’t know the name of it.  You can hold your camera up to it, with Google Lens, and it will tell you what you’re looking at.  It will give you some information about that flower, you can learn about it, tell you what it’s called.  Or let’s say you’re traveling, you’re site seeing and you come to a building…you don’t know what it is…maybe a museum for instance…if you hold your phone up to that building, it will give you information about it.”

Coming soon.
