What was new at E3? Mostly about the games.

Techstination feature for Monday, June 19, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    The video game industry has wrapped up its big annual conference….E3…and once again, without a brand new console generation to focus on, the emphasis was mostly on games.   Microsoft made some headlines with the announcement of the Xbox One X, a souped up version of the Xbox One that will arrive before the holidays.   It will be priced at about five hundred dollars….just about double what you’ll find the Xbox One S selling for.   Microsoft claims it is more powerful than Sony’s PS 4 Pro.   Sony revealed that Shadow of the Colossus, which was popular back in the PlayStation 2 era….is being revived in high definition.   But fans will have to be patient.   It doesn’t arrive until next year.      Nintendo’s big event focused on games for the Switch, the newest game console of the bunch.   And the biggest buzz was for Super Mario Odyssey, coming in October.
