Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    With rumblings about Samsung unveiling the Note 8 phone later this summer….and anticipation growing about an iPhone 8 from Apple this fall….you may wonder what to buy, especially if you need a new phone now.   We’ve had a hands on look now at Samsung’s Galaxy S8 + and there really is a lot to like.   What Samsung calls the Infinity Edge…no bezel look…gives the phone a sleek, attractive appearance and maximizes that 6.2 inch screen.    Beyond that…the camera more than lives up to expectations, the battery gets you through the day with ease and can charge wirelessly.   And Samsung has added its own virtual assistant, Bixby, with a dedicated button to access it on the side.  The jury is still out there. But when it comes to a fast and powerful phone that you can buy today, the S8+ is a winner.
