Merge Cube delivers AR fun and learning

Techstination feature for Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.       There are lots of companies talking about augmented reality or AR these days.   MergeVR, a company that is known for making comfortable foam VR goggles that work with both iOS and Android phones, is out with the Merge Cube.  With the cube and downloadable apps….your phone can turn into an AR wonderland.   And with the goggles…or any Google cardboard goggles…the AR experience is in 3D.   About the apps,  MergeVR Co-founder Andrew Trickett says…

“One that we have is a solar system viewer.  So it gives the effect of holding the solar system in your hand, clicking on planets, learning more about them and being able to manipulate the whole solar system.”

Initially…you can find the Merge Cube at Walmart for about fifteen dollars.   The Merge VR goggles are priced at about sixty dollars.
