Internet Awesome from Google focuses on safety for kids

Techstination feature for Thursday, September 28, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.      With the new school year in full swing…parents should renew their focus on Internet safety for kids.   At Google, they’ve created a program called Internet Awesome…designed to help kids, parents and teachers too.   Google Safety Expert Charlotte Smith…

“We have a curriculum that teaches best practices for navigating the Web, which includes managing what you share, recognizing phishing and scams and protecting online privacy among other things.  And we developed an interactive game to go with this curriculum.  And that’s called Interland.  It brings all these fundamental lessons to life in a way that kids enjoy learning and playing”

Parents need to be involved.  You can find Interland…and more on Be Internet Awesome…by doing a search…where else…on Google.

You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
