Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    If you’re looking for great sound in an intelligent speaker for your home,  Sony has another option for you this holiday season.   The company’s Smart Speaker, S50G, has Googlet Assistant built in.   It’s a pretty good deal, selling for about a hundred dollars.  And says Sony’s Chris Dersarkissian….

“It does have a vertical 360 degree, two way facing speaker system to really allow you to have immersive sound in all directions.   Now I mentioned earlier it does have the Google Assistant built in.  So it has all the smart technology features that the Google Assistant provides.”

In addition to having gesture control…just wave your hand over the top of the speaker…about an inch or so over it, it has rich sound,  Bluetooth connectivity  and a clock display on the side as well.
