Techstination feature for Wednesday, February 7, 2018

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.   Philips is bringing some new capabilities to its app to help new moms and dads with their infants.   It’s part of the company’s effort to focus on healthcare technology.   The uGrow  app is a great example.   Senior Vice President Liat Ben-Zur..

“It’s an app that enables parents to record and track a holistic health record for their child.  Everything from tracking the temperature, feeding, sleeping patterns.  Presenting that to parents, being able to share information with health care professionals in a meaningful way.”

The app is free and can be used by both parents with information being shared.  Philips is also partnering with American Well to offer real time conferencing with medical professionals 24 hours a day.   The app can work with connected devices… coming this year…parents will be able to enter information by voice…through Amazon’s Alexa.
