Tech not always the enemy in living greener

Techstination feature for Tuesday, March 27, 2018

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     Living a little bit greener… tech doesn’t have to be the enemy.   One of the first things to keep in mind is those many chargers around the house are still typically using electricity even when they aren’t being used to charge devices.   Gail Barnes is a sustainability and technology expert …who says social networks have become a valuable tool in spreading the word about Plogging.   That’s picking up litter while jogging…or walking…

“There are increasing numbers of groups, folks, that are doing this in the United States.   You have to check for the hashtag Plogging on Instagram or on Twitter, you’ll be amazed.  You set yourself a goal of about four to five pounds of trash along your route.”

According to the EPA…that’s roughly the equivalent of how much trash each of us produces every day..

You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
