Kingston simplifies memory card buying with new Canvas brand

Techstination feature for Wednesday, April 4, 2018

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     Shopping for a memory card for your camera, phone or other mobile device….can be a little confusing.    What do all the numbers and codes on the packaging mean.   Typically they refer to read and write speeds…to help you make sure the card can handle, say, 4K video recording.   Kingston Technology is trying to simplify things with its new Canvas line of cards that give you three named categories to choose from.   Kingston’s David Leong…

“Canvas Select, for instance, it’s better for point and shoot cameras.   If you need something faster, let’s say you have an SLR,  then a card that we have called Canvas Go would be a better solution for that.  And then if you’re really going high end,  then you’re going to want to go with something like React.”

Designed to be able to handle 4K video recording and more.
