Beverage maker Diageo launches VR content to combat binge drinking

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        Using virtual reality to combat binge drinking.      Diageo is the owner of some of the leading alcoholic beverage brands…including Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff and Captain Morgan….and it has launched a campaign using VR videos to encourage consumers to reduce harmful drinking.    It is called Decisions…Party’s Over.  Dr. Danielle Robinson is the company’s Director of Alcohol Policy and Reputation Management…

“Our hope is that the virtual reality experience we have created in Decisions: Party’s Over, will help inform responsible decision making and will also enlist advocacy in the ongoing fight we have against binge drinking and its dangerous outcomes.”

You can find the videos at BingeDrinkingVR.com.  The VR videos aren’t the first for Diageo….it had launched a Decisions campaign that accumulated nearly 14 million views two years ago.
