Techstination feature for Monday, May 14, 2018

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        The world of smart voice assistants is growing fast.    At two big tech gatherings this month…they were front and center.    At Microsoft Build…the software giant revealed that users will soon be able to reach Amazon’s Alexa…through their Windows 10 PCs.   And Microsoft’s Cortana…will be accessible through Alexa.   At Google I/O in the meantime…many new voice control features were unveiled… And conversations with Google Assistant devices will soon be more natural…according to CEO Sundar Pichai…

“Our vision for the perfect assistant is that it’s naturally conversational, it’s there when you need it, so that you can get things done in the real world.”

Google is adding half a dozen new voices to Google Assistant and the ability to ask follow up questions…and even have the assistant make calls for you to book appointments and reservations.  Stay tuned.      You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
