Real world applications from an Unreal game. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bootcamp, a report on computers and technology. It is one of those first person, shooter 3D games. (sound) Unreal from Epic Games was a big hit last year. Now there's a new tournament edition. But what's really unique is what other people are doing with game's technology, the Unreal engine. "You get an editor with the game that allows you to create your own levels and put in your own monsters, change the game code..."

So instead of chasing monsters through dungeons, you can take a virtual tour, for instance of the Notre Dame Cathedral or a new office development. Vito Miliano is an 18 year old computer whiz who has turned his game know-how into a business called Unrealty...

"Unrealty is a virtual reality application that allows you to take ...be it blueprints, architectural plans, a building that already exists, one that doesn't... and allows you to walk around it in true 3D, in a life-like environment."

This isn't like a panoramic photo. The rendering allows you to walk from room to room. Upstairs or down and look in every direction....
