Techie toys for kids.    I’m Fred Fishkin BootCamp, your Techstination for gadgets and gear.    Drones have become a hot product category this holiday season.   For kids too!   Skyrocket Toys is out with new additions to its Sky Viper line….including the v2400 FPV Streaming Video Drone  with an FPV headset.  It’s a great drone to learn with for young people or adults …who are considering a more expensive drone down the road.   The list price is about a hundred thirty dollars.   Another very interesting option is the PowerUp FPV…that puts a drone module with a camera onto a paper airplane.   We put it into the hands of a 12 year old reviewer.   His take is that it is fun….but it won’t stay in the air for as long as you would expect from other types of drones.  It is certainly more of a challenge and that’s not necessarily such a bad thing.  Kids will learn more about engineering.  The company has won as CES 2017 Best of Innovation Award.    You can find us at BootCamp.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
