Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    Which states are leading the way when it comes to innovation?    The Consumer Technology Association, an industry trade group representing a wide range of consumer tech companies, took a look at things like Internet connection speeds,  policies toward self driving cars….app based car services….drones…and tech job creation.   Policy Communications Specialist Bronwyn Flores says Virginia, California, New York and Massachusetts are among the returning leaders…

“In addition some of the newer champions that we welcomed this year are Colorado, Maryland, New Hampshire and Washington State.  Obviously some of the bigger firms are there, but their policies are allowing smaller start ups to take root as well.”

In many states…debates continue over whether or how to regulate things like drones and self driving cars.
