Akvis Refocus 8.0 helps sharpen or blur photos

Techstination feature for Tuesday, July 11, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    Whether you are using a smart phone or a digital camera to take pictures,  there’s a lot more you can do with those photos after you snap.   Akvis…spelled a-k-v-i-s….has made tools for years for PCs and Macs, that let you do everything from turn portraits into sketches to removing wrinkles and blemishes…and the latest is an update to the company’s Refocus software…now at version 8.0.      It allows you to sharpen the focus of specific areas of a picture and selectively blur the background.    It’s kind of like the way the camera in the iPhone 7 Plus allows you to blur the background in portaits.    The Akvis photo tools typically work in both stand alone and plug in modes if you use a product like PhotoShop.   For more, check out Akvis.com.

You can find us at Techstination.com.   I’m Fred Fishkin.
