Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.     The idea of traveling 700 miles an hourthrough a tube in an electromagnetically levitated pod is getting closer and closer to reality.  The concept was dreamed up by Elon Musk…who has allowed others to step in to make it real.   Sir Richard Branson has now joined those investing in Hyperloop One, enough of an investment that the venture is now called Virgin Hyperloop One.    Co-founder and Engineering President Josh Giegel tells us…the competition between countries and cities to be among the first is getting pretty intense.   And for passengers…it sounds like it will be amazing…

“You know you’re not going to be able to miss a Hyperloop, because they go when you want them to go.     Each one of these pods has maybe forty or fifty people in it.   You can them going through the tubes about ten seconds apart.”

The goal….is to have the first systems in operation within about four years.
