Spokata text to speech platform for real time news uses Alexa's cousin Polly

Techstination feature for Tuesday, December 26, 2017

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    Hey wait a minute,  can technology eliminate my job too?    A company called Spokata has developed a mobile audio platform for real time news.    And it uses a combination of proprietary algorithms and an Amazon artificial intelligence text to speech service called Polly.   Sort of a cousin to Alexa.    Spokata CEO Zack Sherman…

“What we do is we take text, as it’s published from around a hundred global sources, summarize that text, and then we take these short, fact based summaries and turn them into streaming audio using Amazon Polly which we think is the best text to speech engine on the market.”  (sound demo)

Sounds pretty good.   You can find more at Spokata.com.
