Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.      The divide in this country is deepening and that doesn’t bode well for the future.   I’m talking about the divide that has widened between tech rivals Google and Amazon.   Amazon’s reported plan to stop selling Google’s Nest products…. is just the latest move in the feud.  It comes after Amazon announced it was buying Ring…which competes with some of those Nest products.   Beyond that, there’s no love lost between Google’s Chromecast and Amazon Prime Video and Google’s YouTube has vanished from the Echo Show.   The bottom line is the divide here isn’t very good news for consumers who are faced with enough confusion in getting smart home gear to work they way it is supposed to.   How sad to see a Google Home and an Amazon Echo  sitting on a kitchen counter …both so smart…but so unwilling to resolve their differences.
