KIBO from KinderLab Robotics unleashes learning and imagination

Techstination feature for Monday, March 26, 2018

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.    We’re seeing more and more educational toys these days designed to give kids…even pre-schoolers…some basic skill for coding and more.  At  KinderLab Robotics …they’ve created a wonderfully imaginative robot named KIBO.   It is based on 15 years of development research.   CEO Mitch Rosenberg…says the idea is to use blocks to provide the instructions…

“So we want the child to first of all build the robot to do the things that they put in their program.  And then secondly we want the kid to decorate their robot to be a character.   To be a fire engine or a ballerina.   To be a character from a story like Winnie The Pooh.”

It all equals STEM plus creativity.   The company is working with lots of schools too.   There’s more at KinderLabRobotics.com.
