GoSun solar cookers to assist victims of Typhoon Yutu

Techstination feature for Tuesday, November 6, 2018

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear.   I’m Fred Fishkin.        When the devastating Typhoon Yutu tore through the U.S. Territories of the North Mariana Islands at the end of October…GoSun, a company that makes solar cookers….responded to a call from the Red Cross.   CEO and Founder Patrick Sherwin says the company rounded up all of its GoSun Sport inventory….even pulling back some from retailers….and sent them on their way.   Sherwin says the cookers can work…where little else is available…

“No electric, no gas, no water.  And GoSun is one of those rare items that can be deployed and is an all inclusive, autonomous device.  It doesn’t take batteries.   It doesn’t require inputs from far away.”

All it needs is the sun.   Fifteen hundred units were sent in all…and the need, according to the Red Cross, will be long term.    For more info…head to GoSun.co.
