"What it does is really provide advanced performance, higher capacity, protection and durability to enable PC and Mac users to easily back up and store their digital valuables. The new product really triples the capacity and more than doubles the maximum transfer rate of our previous product, the Zip 250 drive."
And the Zip 750, can read and write 250 discs and read the original 100s. The first is an external USB drive that can use the much faster USB 2.0 transfer rates if your PC is equipped for that. About 48 million Zip drives have been sold since 1995. But today, with inexpensive CD rewritable drives in so many machines... and blank discs so cheap... .Zip is a tough sell. But Greenhall says...
"Zip 750 discs come in a protected plastic case, therefore they're protected from scratches and the environment."
The new drive... without any discs included... is priced at under 180 dollars... with the 750 megabyte discs ... in an 8 back... going for 12.50 apiece. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
