A GPS device to track children. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. A company called Wherify Wireless has begun taking orders for a wrist worn device designed to let parents know the whereabouts of their kids. CEO Timothy Neher says it contains a tiny cell phone and global positioning satellite technology...

"Let's say you have a seven or eight year old walking to school... they felt in danger... they could push one button on the watch and it will lock the clasp. It's made of a cut resistant material if you will and it has a tamper sensor all the way around the device... so once the child locked it, someone's not going to take that watch off the kid without us knowing about it at our data center."

Push two other buttons and the watch sends a signal back that alerts police and the parents to the child's location. Parents can also log onto a Web site at any time of day...

"Put your user ID, your PIN number in, and a map will come up in about sixty seconds or less."

Pinpointing where the child is. The price... 399 for the GPS watch and a monthly service fee that ranges from 25 to 35 dollars a month depending upon usage. Wherify claims it will work even indoors in many buildings... .

"We're advertising all wood frame buildings. I'm in a concrete and steel building right now and I can get located sitting right at my desk. But as you move into heavier, bunker type building facilities, it will be harder to get that GPS and cellular transmission."
