"It's a point to point video conferencing video phone. It allows one to use a broadband connection to provide smooth video so that one can see point to point. It's a complete stand alone unit. All you need is the i2eye video phone, a television and a broadband connection."

The quality is impressive and complies with standards that will let you video conference with PCs using Microsoft's NetMeeting software as well. The tricky part can be getting it all to work behind a home network firewall. If you don't have a high speed network connection near your family room TV, additional hardware will let you use the i2eye wirelessly...

"The television actually rings and gives you the option to answer the phone or not answer the phone. Or you can actually answer the phone and have no picture or you can do any combination of that."

A remote control lets you sit on the sofa to while using the box. Each i2eye device costs about three hundred dollars.
