Homework season rolls around again... and there's more help than ever on the Web. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Go to a Web search engine... type in homework help... and you'll find a wide variety of sites... some free and some paid... that offer assistance. The range of quality is pretty wide as well. Some specialize in certain subjects... like Hotmath.com... where president Chuck Grant says...

"The two co-founders are educators. I was a high school math teacher and Bob Bekes is chairman of the math department at Santa Clara University. We saw that students were not doing as well in homework, not completing homework and tried out an idea of having specific homework help available on the Internet."

Hotmath has been signing up schools around the country as customers. Their students get free access. If their schools haven't joined... Hotmath is available by subscription for 29 dollars a year. Grant says the content is linked to textbooks...

"We have tutorial solutions to the actual homework problems in math textbooks, odd numbered problems only from middle school math through college calculus. A student can go to our site, select the textbook that they're using and click on any odd numbered problem that they're struggling with to see a teacher prepared, step by step explanation for how to solve that problem."
