"We really believe that adding connectivity to the imaging industry, even the professional industry, is a value add that will be a core part of the imaging industry in the future. We're going to have many products that will be phones that have cameras, but we're also going to be bringing a lot of cameras that have phones."
Some professional photographers are predicting the real competition for companies like Olympus, Nikon and other camera makers... .will come from cell phone makers in the near future. Some could have multi-megapixel cell phone/cameras on the market within the next year...
"I think one of the biggest things will be, the magic sauce from a Nokia perspective, is it's one thing to be able to take pictures... it's another to be able to be easily shared. And so the integration of the imaging applications in the UI of the product that makes it easy to use is something that we're really focusing our own efforts on."
Snap a great family or vacation photo... and send it instantly to friends and relatives... .or to a Web site. Nokia is partnering with Kodak... for that.
