Can satellite TV help sell satellite radio? Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. The number two satellite radio service…Sirius….is turning to the number two satellite TV service…Echostar's Dish Network…to try to win more subscribers. Sirius is making its radio broadcasts available free of charge…to those who subscribe to the top tiers of Dish programming. Sirius CEO Joe Clayton…

"Over 60 channels of commercial free music will now be offered on Echostar's Dish Network. And indeed, that will increase the number of listeners to our service by millions. The second piece is about having the product with the Dish brand distributed through the small independent retailers that help make up the Dish Network distribution system."

Clayton's hope is consumers who listen to the satellite radio service on their TVs at home…will turn around and by it for their cars. And there could be more such deals in the works…

"Obviously we could do it over digital cable with any of a host of a host of different cable companies. But remember, that a lot of the cable companies also own Music Choice and that is their preferred partner."

Even with the added push…Clayton forecasts it will take until the end of next year…before Sirius Satellite Radio earns a profit. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
