Senior Product Manager James Manning says the easiest to use package, MyDVD, is bundled with some DVD burning drives and PCs…

"I can hook up my video camcorder and press the record button and record a DVD in a single step. If I want to get a little more fancy with that, I can record different sections of video onto the hard drive of my computer and then I can import those videos into a project, create all kinds of nice looking menus and navigation. And really create kind of a presentation of my video that I can pop into my home DVD player and play for my friends and family."

While Sonic Solutions also makes professional software used in Hollywood and is one of the most experienced makers of DVD creation tools…it has plenty of competition. Other good choices are made by Ulead, Roxio and Pinnacle….

"The time is really right for people to get into this sort of thing. I mean PCs are becoming enabled."
