A digital frame…for those digital pictures. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. Digital frames….LCD screens that can display photos and slide shows…have been around for years…but they have been and still are pretty expensive. Sometimes, they require subscriptions. Ceiva, for instance, makes frames that display pictures sent to it over the Internet. The easiest to use…are frames that just let you pop in the memory card from you digital camera. PQI's Intelligent Frame…accepts six different types of memory cards….and can serve as a memory card reader for your PC as well. Retail business manager Nick Adams…

"It's a 5 by 7 frame with essentially a 4 by 6 picture in it. And it also comes with selectable bezels. So if you want a wood grain picture frame or an aluminum looking picture frame you have all that available to you."

While the Intelligent Frame now sells for about 280 dollars, Adams expect that to fall to below 200 dollars in the months to come…

"I think what we're trying to tap into is that wonderful grandparent market. You give one of these to the grandparents and then once a month you can send a Compact Flash or Secure Digital or whatever type of media you're using, with new pictures of the kids and stuff. And it just makes it really easy because the person using it doesn't have to be computer savvy to be able to use this product."
