More storage in your pocket. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. It's called the USB Pocket Hard Drive…the latest in the line of external storage devices from Seagate. Unlike most other add on hard drives, this one, as its name implies…fits in a shirt pocket…and can store up to five gigabytes. It's round like a hockeypuck….and is powered by the USB port of your PC. Seagate's director of global consumer storage marketing Rob Pait…says even though PCs and notebooks are shipping with more hard drive capacity than ever…

"People are using their PCs, of course, for more than just data. Most of us are using PCs today to watch movie trailers, or even movies themselves, store and listen to music, edit home videos..."

And so there's a need for more storage. Similar to tiny flash memory drives, the Pocket Hard Drive is useful for transporting data between the office and home …or from notebook to desktop. The one downside is the price…about 200 dollars for the five gigabyte version. You can buy full sized hard drives that store forty times as much for about the same price…or even less. Look for higher capacity Pocket Hard Drives in the months to come…

"We really see a quick expansion path for the capacity of it. And we believe we can within a couple of years double the capacity on this drive.
