Will this be the year of the home server? Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. The idea of having a central repository in your home….where you can store your digital photos, digital music, video and other files…isn't really mainstream yet. But as more and more people abandon film cameras for digital ones….and use iPods instead of CD players…home servers make more and more sense. A company called Axentra hopes this will be the year they catch on. It has been selling servers for small businesses…and says CEO Marc Benglia…there is a need for the Net-Box in the home…

"The key, for example, is to take care of your home networking needs. So basically all your networking for your Macintosh, your PC so that they talk to each other, it's also a shared hard drive so you can centrally store, manage, retrieve, access and share your files, for example. You can also share them and retrieve them over the Internet."

The Net-Box sells for about 500 dollars and includes your own domain name…for a Web site and email. The advantages…

"You don't need to email those files, you don't need to email your photos anymore. You tell people, here is my Web site…and from that Web site they can access all the things that you want them to be able to access."
