But if what you really want to get at are digital music, photos and videos …a company called Orb Networks has one of the best new applications around. It lets you access those files from just about any Web browser…using a PC, a PDA or even a cell phone. And those devices don't need any special software. Orb VP Joe Harris…

"The only software we supply goes on your PC in your home. What you need on your other device, is the browser, the player and a data connection."

The initial release was aimed at owners of media center PCs. It allows you to watch live TV from remote devices. But Harris says…

"Very shortly, within a few weeks, we'll be launching the XP version. Which means that if you have a tuner, or if you don't have a tuner, you can use our software to do streaming of videos, photos, music."

Orb is priced at ten dollars a month or 80 dollars a year. New partnerships for the service make its future promising…

"We announced seven different partners that are going to be working us including Intel, Audible, ADS Tech, Pinnacle, Creative, NetGear and Boingo."
