"We will be doing some trials with our vendors sometime next year. And if you want my prognostication, I'll tell you that revision A will be fairly common place in 2007."
The bad news is that to take advantage of it, customers, even those who are buying expensive EVDO capable handsets today, will need to buy new cell phones again…
"That's true, for those who want to take advantage of it. It's not going to be something that everyone is going to have a need for right away. The current EVDO has a downlink speed that averages in the 4, 5, 600 kilobit range, we advertise 3 to 500. The next generation is going to provide an uplink that is similar in terms of speed."
