"Not only can you take a 2 megapixel phone with this camera phone and you can plug it into a printer and print pictures right there. And they are good quality pictures. You can bypass the computer, you can bypass the photo lab and print directly at your home instantly. Or you can send the photo to somebody else's camera phone or somebody else's PC."
The phone contains PictBridge software…so it can connect directly to printers that have that capability as well. What's missing is Bluetooth…for wireless headsets and printing. One neat feature is the camera in the phone can work as a business card scanner. Too bad that won't sync with Microsoft Outlook. The A800 has a TransFlash card slot for up to 512 megabytes of external memory. You can use that for pictures….or for music…
"This is our first phone with AAC plus, so the sound quality is awesome. We recently launched video ringers, so you can take advantage of the sound quality, plus the incredible screen."
The phone, with a contract and discount, is being sold for about 350 dollars. If a good quality camera in a phone is a priority, the MMA800 is at the top of the heap for now. Look for other 2 megapixel models to follow. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
