A computer baseball game, with a heart. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bootcamp, a report on computers and technology. (sound) It's one of the best baseball games you can buy for your PC, especially for under twenty dollars, but Microsoft Baseball 2000 has been doing something more. Giving Major League Baseball and New York Mets Pitcher Al Leiter a hand in reaching out to inner city kids. At one New York City event, Microsoft invited kids to play the game along with Leiter...and then donated a dozen PCs to their schools along with cash to Leiter's Landing...

"Leiter's Landing is a charitable foundation that my wife and I set up when I was with the Marlins in '96 and it started out as group tickets type events, where I'd get underpriveleged type situations come out to the ballgame. Treat them to a nice day, basically. And then when I got to the Mets I donated a million dollars of my contract to the charity of which we're just figuring out ways to give it away."

Leiter's picture is on the box of Baseball 2000. His fee for that went to the charity too. About the game, the kids love it...

"Here's a guy who looks like he knows what he's doing, what's your name?" "Junior Imerz." "Junior, what are you thinking here, are you doing alright with this game?" "Yeah, I'm winning 11 to 3."

In some games, everybody wins.
