A Fuga in Your Pocket?

Techstination feature for Tuesday, June 22, 1999

An easy to use electronic organizer at a bargain price. I'm Fred Fishkin with Bootcamp, a report on computers and technology. This time it isn't the little Palm Organizer we're talking about. They are great. But if you're used to using paper and pen and don't want to spend all that money for a Palm, a company called Fuga, that's F U G A, has come out with a little device it calls the eDiary. Company President Jay Goyal...

"What we have done is we have designed a product for really the non-tech user or the paper diary user. And it doesn't have handwriting recognition or third party programs. It's a lot simpler, less intimidating solution, doesn't use computer concepts like find menus or different programs for different purposes. It really allows users to enter and retrieve data in one single view and does that very easily and quickly. "

The eDiary does hook up to a PC to back up the information stored in it. You can access the information on the computer using the eDiary application. The price, under a hundred fifty dollars. Goyal says it isn't for folks who have already latched onto a Palm or Windows CE organizer...

"Whereas the housewife or the lawyer out there or the physician or the real estate agent or the working woman or working mother who hasn't grappled with these gizmos before is able to get the point fairly quickly.
