When it comes to video games….the Garriott brothers are legends. Bloomberg Boot Camp, a report on today's technology. They founded Origin Systems nearly a quarter of a century ago…..creating games such as Wing Commander and the Ultima series. Robert and Richard Garriott are still at it today….at the North American arm of NCsoft….the South Korea based number one maker of online PC games. The company's Lineage game has about 6 million subscribers…..reaching about 10 percent of all homes in South Korea. Here in the U.S….Robert Garriott says the latest hit is called City of Villains….

"Which is a companion product to City of Heroes. City of Heroes, which was award winning, ground breaking…was the first super hero style MMP, you basically were a hero. You went around saving people and doing great things and building up a character. Well, a lot of people said to us, okay, I can be a hero, I want to be a villain, I want to be the bad guy. I want to go out and do dastardly things and build evil groups of people. And then I want to be able to fight with those dastardly groups against heroes."

Subscribers pay about 15 dollars a month. NCsoft has so far not made games for consoles like the Playstation 2 or the Xbox or the new Xbox360…but says Garriott, that may change in the months to come. Bloomberg Boot Camp, I'm Fred Fishkin.
